SOURCES, VERSIONS & WHAT CHANGED
ACS county profile: initial ACD release
Our fifth product: 13 county demographic measures, with published uncertainty and source definitions.
Source edition and ACD release
Census released the 2020–2024 ACS five-year edition on January 29, 2026. This October 16 release is our initial paid preparation of that edition, not a new Census survey release.
What changed from the research prototype
The earlier free prototype contained population, median age, median household income and housing units. The full product adds household counts, age shares, poverty, unemployment, education, tenure, rent and home value. All 25,776 shared raw estimate and margin-of-error cells agree with the prototype. The product adds a wide table for joins, a detailed table with original annotations, and a reproducible source/extraction/preparation history.
Coverage and uncertainty
Includes the 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico household and education values come from DP02PR. Connecticut uses nine planning regions. Thirteen unavailable estimates remain blank with explicit statuses. Special margins of error remain distinguishable from numeric zeros. No values are imputed, and percentages are the published Census percentages.
Using the release
Join five-character county FIPS identifiers using compatible geography. Read the Python guide for a service-area example, or inspect the fields and free sample. This source edition costs $19 once; subsequent ACD processing improvements for it are free to its purchasers. A genuinely new source edition may be sold separately.
