Industry & CRM / DOCUMENTED CSV
NAICS 2017 → 2022 Crosswalk
Bring legacy industry codes into the 2022 standard, with the original Census relationships preserved.
2017 → 2022 classification editions
01 / KNOW THE FIT
A useful join starts
with a clear meaning.
What you can do with it
Update a CRM, reconcile industry labels across reporting years, or prepare a database join between the 2017 and 2022 NAICS classifications.
What one row means
One relationship between a six-digit 2017 code and a six-digit 2022 code. Codes and source titles for both editions sit together in four columns.
Unique keynaics_2017_code + naics_2022_code
How to join it
Join your 2017 industry code to naics_2017_code as text. Inspect multiple matches before choosing a new code or aggregating measures: a join can increase your row count.
Coverage, with the edges visible
Includes 1,057 distinct 2017 codes and 1,012 distinct 2022 codes from the official concordance. 9 old codes have multiple matches; 79 new codes combine multiple old codes.
Keep in mind
- A crosswalk gives possible relationships. The business’s activity may be needed to choose among them.
- A matching code and title do not establish an unchanged classification definition.
- These are 2017 and 2022 classifications. The package date does not make this a new classification edition. No 2027 codes are included.
We turn the Census workbook into a flat UTF-8 CSV, preserve the source code text and titles, reject duplicate code pairs, and validate the documented key. Splits and combinations remain visible.

Sources, versions & changes.
Source versions identify the inputs. Our processing revision describes how we prepare them. Either kind of change creates a new ACD release; the package date records when it was built.
